Matrix

Matrix is a collection of fund choices that allows you to mix and match return/risk and control variables. In general, higher returns can only be achieved at the expense of greater risk. The Unit-linked Bond has a higher risk profile than say savings certificates or a standard deposit account, but over the longer term investors have been rewarded for this risk through a higher return. (Data is available on request.)

Extensive Choice of Funds

The Unit-linked Bond offers a range of unit-linked funds each having its own return/risk and control profile. This enables you to select funds that match your attitude to risk and control. You can either link your bond fully to one fund or link it to a combination of funds.

Switching Unit Funds

If you wish to change the profile of your investment you can do this at any time by making a fund switch. This involves moving some or all of your existing units into one or more of the other unit-linked funds. The current charge for this service is €19.05.

Regular Income

You can opt to regularly take an income from your bond (minimum €317.43 regardless of frequency). This income can be calculated as a fixed monetary amount or as a percentage of the value of your bond. This facility is only available if the minimum value of your bond after a regular income has been taken is at least €2,539.48).  Regular income will be taxed as a partial encashment.

Encashing Your Bond

You can make a full or partial encashment at any time. This is done by cancelling all or some of your units at their bid value. On making a partial encashment (the current charge is €19.05) the minimum remaining value of your bond must be at least €1,269.74). It is important to note that the cash value of your bond in the early years may be less than the amount you invested.
